Monroe County has a new initiative to help area firms strengthen their marketing efforts. Rochester  Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) provides free government contract consulting to diverse business concerns. PTAC is funded under a cooperative agreement between the County of Monroe and the U.S. Department of Defense, and administered by the Defense Logistics Agency. Additional support is provided by New York State.

The U.S. Government is the world’s largest purchaser of goods and  services, and New York State budgets for more than $8.5 billion in  contracts each year.
